MODCITY Magazine Inc. launched www.modcity.ca in 2012 out of both a passion for local business and for local culture. The MODCITY Team is made up of several people who contribute in many different ways to make MODCITY an ongoing success. 

In Late 2013 MODCITY published our premiere issue of MODCITY Magazine in print.  In April of 2013 MODCITY Magazine Inc. will commence monthly print issues.  

Our goal at MODCITY is to be the very first place you look when staying update to local happenings, big and small.  MODCITY also provides a look at the latest trends in lifestyle and provides local businesses owners a place to connect with other local businesses.

MODCITY relies 100% on our following, so thank you to EVERYONE that has been encouraging, interested and supportive in all stages of our journey.  We look forward to providing you with relevant, exciting and useful information for years to come!

Kacey Plishka

President & Publisher

Kacey is an Edmontonian born and raised. She has a passion for people and business a like. A self-described sugar addict Kacey loves to eat and bake anything sweet. Recently her sugar addiction has inspired her to get back to the gym on a daily basis. She loves to read, though seems to rarely have the time, and spend time with her family; a boyfriend and two miniature American Eskimos -Babie and Emo. Kacey describes her daily life as "somewhat of a chaotic frenzy, but beautiful none-the-less."

Kristin is a marketing professional living in the South Edmonton ‘burbs. Newly engaged, her days are spent wedding planning and seeking out Edmonton’s best chai latte. Living in yeg for the past six years, Kristin still finds new things to see and do in her great city; even if these things mostly consist of patios, beer and miniature food. A lover of mountains, music and Jalapeno & Cheddar Doritos, Kristin’s favorite part of the city is Downtown. Yes, even the pedways.

Cassy Meier

Stylist and Fashion Columnist

Cassy is a talented stylist from Vancouver, BC, with many photoshoots to her name and backstage credits at several high profile fashion shows including; the Billabong Grand Opening, the Art Institute of Vancouver Annual Grad Fashion Show and BC Fashion Week. Cassy graduated with honors in 2004 with a certificate in Fashion Merchandising and in 2009 with a diploma in Fashion Marketing. She brings passion, creativity, strong work ethic and integrity to each project she takes on. In the summer of 2010 Cassy had the opportunity to intern with IMG and People's Revolution in New York City and was backstage at both Miami and New York Fashion Weeks! During which time she assisted on shows like Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman. Since returning from her second internship with the famed PR firm in February 2011 Cassy has concentrated on her styling career. Cassy is represented by the Artist Group!

Marina Fernandes

Fashion Intern

Marina Fernandes is a current graduate of the Art institute of Vancouver’s Fashion Marketing program and a lover of all things fashion. After spending 2 years of hard work and determination in Vancouver and acting as the Executive Director for a successfully executed student-lead fashion show, Marina moved back home to Edmonton to discover exactly what good ol’ YEG had to offer. When she’s not spending her days obsessing over all things Andy Warhol and Alexander McQueen, she’s working as the Divisional Manager for the Twik Department at the Quebec-based store La Maison Simons. With her sights first set at producing fashion shows, Marina’s focus has now redirected to a successful career within the fashion magazine business. Using her ability to balance business with creativity she hopes to help raise fashion awareness within the Edmonton community.
